I found this organization, Yes and… Exercise! (nicknamed “YAX”) through a recommendation on a Facebook group for Parkinson’s (PD). I didn’t know exactly what I needed, but I knew I needed help figuring out how to re-route my life and I needed emotional support. Now YAX is a vital part of my daily life. Through the improv zoom sessions and the “Day One” writing and storytelling programs I found my PD voice as well as a community of others affected by PD who I can also call friends.

“What I Didn’t Say” is a performance about the experience of a Parkinson’s patient and his care partner, early in the process. This play is simply the most direct method of trying to explain Parkinson’s (PD) I have seen. It is revealing, heartbreaking, funny, hopeful and raw! I am recommending it to everyone I meet now who has questions about PD.
You can rent the play (and view online) as an individual/same household or as a group of individuals joining the separately.
